Courtney Kravig is a diverse tattoo and fine artist/printmaker located in Ocala, FL. She received her Bachelor of Fine Art from Herron School of Art + Design in Indianapolis, IN. In 2021, she made the move from the midwest to gatorland to stay close to family. After working a number of different jobs in various industries, and finding the rat race unsustainable for happiness to thrive, she began apprenticing under her mentor, Naomi Ballard AKA The Bird Lady. After nearly two years of working on fake skin and pig skin, Courtney opened up a private studio in 2024 to start building her own clientele alongside Naomi. In an effort to continue learning and growing alongside other artists, this year she made the switch to Stranger Flowers Yet Tattoo & Art Collective where she will be allowed to expand as an artist and build community. 

 

Courtney loves to create whimsical, illustrative tattoos full of critters (especially birds) alongside delicate florals in a fine line style that does not sacrifice boldness and contrast in the name of being dainty. All subjects pertaining to animals, cottagecore, florals/leaves, insects, astrology, magic, celestial bodies, weird pet portraits, personal tools/artifacts, etc. will not cease to bring her joy. She will never be able to choose between black and grey or color completely, so don’t ask her to! She will beg you to wear sunscreen regardless though. 

 

While clocked out, Courtney loves to binge watch (for the umpteenth time) Gilmore Girls and Grey's Anatomy, sing karaoke, watch live comedy, paddle on the springs, bird watching, camping, and of course art! As a committee member on the Ocala Studio Gallery Tour, you can find her working in a private printmaking studio on the first Saturday of every month from 11am-3pm; this is where you can look at her prints and see how things are made behind the scenes, as well as talk and ask questions about the making process.
